What Can You Do In Cache Valley This Time of Year

It gets cold fast here in Cache Valley. Just a week or two ago, I was sleeping with my window open and a fan on. Now I’m running the heater before bed and I’ve busted out the heavy blankets. Fall is here and winter is right around the corner.

Does that mean you won’t find things to do around here? It most certainly does not. Even as it gets colder, Cache Valley will continue to provide plenty of opportunities for fun. You just have to know what they are. So, Cache Valley Local is providing just a few examples of fun activities for you to enjoy this fall and winter.

Things to Do in Cache Valley

1. Mazes

The first time I remember visiting one of Cache Valley’s mazes was way back in high school, which must have been more than 25 years ago now. Back then, my friends used to go to the corn maze, or as I liked to call it, “The Maize,” a pun that not many people ever got, but oh well. Nowadays, there’s also the straw maze, both of which will be open through Halloween and have trick-or-treating activities if you want to participate.

2. Trick-Or-Treating

With Halloween coming up, you can expect a lot of trick-or-treating activities. Downtown Logan has the Trick-or-Treat Walk, sponsored by dozens of businesses in the surrounding area.

3. Marvelous Adventures

On Oct. 26, the Cache Community Event Center will be holding a special event called Marvelous Adventures. There will be food, activities, and crafts, all built around a theme of superheroes. It will be from 11am to 1pm and costumes are encouraged.

4. The Harry Potter Party

Harry Potter Party

On Oct. 8, at the North Logan Library is partnering with the Cache Valley Kids Market for a Harry Potter Party. There will be a magician, vendors run by kids selling homemade goods, and costumes are encouraged.

5. Improv Comedy Night

On Fridays, The Antics have a special family night. The Antics are a local comedy troupe that does family friendly entertainment. At this event, the troupe will do improv comedy based on suggestions from the audience. Tickets are $9, with kids under 8 getting in free.

6. Turkey Trot

The third annual turkey trot will be held on Nov. 28. This is a 5K charity run raising money for the local community. This year’s focus is foster care in Utah. Instead of an entry fee, they are asking for personal hygiene items for teenagers in foster care. Multiple local businesses are sponsoring this event and offering prizes to participants.

7. Ice Skating Show

On Dec. 7, the Cache Valley Figures skaters are putting on their annual event, the Winter Wonderland. They will do two back-to-back shows at 5 and 7 pm. You can purchase tickets online or at the door.
