Local Events in Cache Valley for Fall and Winter


It’s a known fact that you can live in some place your whole life and never once do any of the things there are to actually do there. You don’t think about what there is to do until someone comes along and asks, and then you realize you’ve never really looked into it. Once you do, you’re surprised to find out how much is actually going on.

What To Do In Cache Valley This Fall and Winter?

So, maybe you’ve got family coming for Thanksgiving or Christmas; that’s pretty common. Or maybe you’re just tired of sitting around and doing nothing. Whatever the reason, you want to get out and see the sights in Cache Valley. So, what’s out there? Quite a lot. Here’s a short list of just a few of the events happening this fall and winter!

Cache Valley Events in November and December

1. Story Time on the Farm

The American West Heritage Center is near the Wellsville Mountains. For years, it has served as an educational center for exploring the different cultures that have shaped Cache Valley into the community that it is today. Every Wednesday from now until December 13 (excluding the week of Thanksgiving), they will be hosting their story time event. Up to 30 kids at a time will experience stories, activities and treats. 2. The Antics Comedy Improv Show

The group does improv comedy performances based on audience input. Every experience is unique. Next show will be Friday, Nov 17 at 7:30 PM and future shows happen every Friday until the last show on December 15. Tickets will cost $9 for adults, with children ages 4-8 getting in half-off.

3. Imagine This Music and Art Studio Event

On November 18, from 7-10 PM, the Imagine This Art Studio will be having an art event. This event is called the Pixilated Flowers Paint Night and will focus on artwork done in the pixel style of old video games. Teachers will help people learn to paint in this style. 4. The Nutcracker Ballet

The Ellen Eccles Theater is a beautiful historic building that has been offering wonderful experiences, from ballets to stage plays for generations. This fall, they will be hosting a performance of the classic Nutcracker ballet based on the story by E.T. Hoffman, with music composed by the legendary Tchaikovsky. There will be two showings on Nov. 24 and 25 (Friday and Saturday) at 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM. It will show again on Nov. 27 (Monday) at 7:30 PM.

5. Downtown Logan Gallery Walk

The Cache Valley Center for the Arts is an art school that teaches a wide variety of arts, from painting, to dance. Once a year, they sponsor the Downtown Logan Gallery Walk. This free event will take place on Dec. 1 from 6-9 PM. The storefronts of Logan’s historic district will be converted into one large art gallery showcasing upcoming talented artists. 6. Figure Skating Club Winter Show

The Cache Valley Figure Skating club is hosting a show to help collect food for charity. The Winter Wonderland event will be held on Dec. 9, in two shows, one at 5 PM, the other at 7 PM. Tickets are $5, but you can bring a can of food for the Cache Community Food Pantry and get the tickets for only $3.

7. Hyrum Farm Kids Christmas Pop-Up Market

On Dec. 16, from 9 AM – 12 PM there will be a special market hosted by kids from around Hyrum. 50 kid vendors ranging in age from 5-7 years old will offer a variety of homemade goods from crafts, to baked items. The event is free to visit, but vendors will charge for their goods. Cash is preferred, but Venmo is on hand for credit and debit cards.
